Ink cap mushroom

about Ink cap mushroom

Coprinopsis atramentaria

They produce an "ink" that makes them digest themselves. The ink is comprised by enzimes that break down the mushroom itself, so after the first rain they will start dripping of black ink, which will dry out and start to decompose the mushroom itself.

The are urban mushrooms, often growing on dung.
