about eucalyptus
Eucalyptus Globolus or Gummii. Both varieties are native to Australia and New Zealand, and are often seen as "invasive" anywhere else in the world. Its a strong holder of both biochromes (in the leaves for yellow/flavolols) and tannins (bark). Both bark, wood and leaves produce worthy dyes - ranging from greys to browns and oranges. Most species are also able to produce a resin, "kino" red in color, which can be used for dyeing.
The Globolus variety has conquered hot mediterranean climates, spreading and avidily taking away precious water. More decorative smaller varieties are often grown also indoors as house plants, these mostly do not reach to grow as trees.
